Quick Look previews aren't showing
Launch Riview once after installing, then press Space on a .riv file in Finder. If previews still don't appear, check System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Quick Look and make sure Riview is enabled.
How do I make Riview the default app for .riv files?
Select any .riv file in Finder, press ⌘I, choose Riview under “Open with”, then click “Change All…”. Riview also offers this on its Home window the first time you launch, and in Settings where macOS allows it.
What does the free version include?
Viewing, Quick Look, the data-binding playground, and image (PNG) export are free with no watermark, forever. Your first motion export — video or GIF, opaque or transparent — is watermark-free so you can judge the output on your own file; after that, motion exports carry a tiled watermark.
What is Riview Pro?
A one-time purchase that removes the watermark from every motion export — video, GIF, and transparent HEVC alpha — forever. No subscription — every 1.x update is included. Purchases are handled by Apple through the Mac App Store.
I bought Pro but exports still have a watermark
Open Riview → Settings and click “Restore Purchase” while signed in to the same Apple Account that made the purchase. If it still doesn't unlock, email us.
Why does my export look different from the canvas?
Exports replay the exact live state of the canvas — including your data-binding edits and input values. If a state machine input was changed by the animation itself, restart playback (⌘R) before exporting to capture a clean run.
Can Riview edit .riv files?
No — .riv is a runtime format. Riview lets you view, inspect, and export it. Editing happens in the Rive editor, which produces the .riv files Riview plays.
